The Raconteurs

Last night while hanging out on the back porch with Mel and the guys I played a good chunk of the new album by Jack White's other band, The Raconteurs. It's called Consolers of the Lonely and it's been an almost guaranteed group "okey dokey" whenever I play it. I'm enjoying it but I still have a hard time really loving Jack's non White Stripes band. I do really like the title track which you can play below.

I don't know, man... I think the Raconteurs are a pretty tight group. It is fun to hear what White can do with more polish than he can with Meg. But, I love the rawness of the Stripes, too. I think the guy has done more to carve himself out a place in the books as a true musician than he others in his class.

By the way, did you check out Van Lear Rose? If I am not mistaken, the Raconteurs comprise a good deal of the studio band for Loretta Lynn's grammy-winning album. Hats off again to Jack!
