Carvey and Hicks
According to a comment on my post about the possibility of Dana Carvey lifting from Bill Hicks, Hicks may have done a similar bit that you can view here. You can skip to the 1:20 mark to hear the bit. I still swear Bill may have done the bit the way I remember because his act could be pretty fluid.

I think I've heard Bill Hicks say something like that too. Many comedians (Dennis Leary and Dane Cook especially) have lifted material from Hicks. It's hard not to because he was a friggin' genius. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. You probably already know this, but I often use someone elses joke. I just have a good memory and pull out the right "soundbyte" that fills the moment. I like to think a lot of funny people do that too.
