Al Quaeda

One of the best books I have read in the last year was The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright. It a fantastic history of Islamic extremism and Al Quaeda. It's a nonpartisan unbiased objective view of the causes of extremism. Something that seems rarer and rarer in these here days.

Today while making breakfast and ironing my work clothes I listened to a lecture he gave at Princeton in April. It was amazing. He reiterated many of his ideas from his book and went a little further into the culture of the Muslim world. Someone needs to sit our president in front of this video and let that dumb bastard see that the Muslim world is so much more complicated that he has been led to believe.
